Bioinventory

bioinventory.png

A bio-inventory is a concentrated, fast-paced biological survey in which experts and volunteers collaborate to record as many species of plants, animals, fungi, and other living organisms as possible within a specific location and time frame. The Indiana Academy of Science uses these events to help build a clearer picture of Indiana’s ecological health while inspiring curiosity and appreciation for the natural world.

Bio-inventories are open to anyone with a passion for nature — from seasoned scientists to students and community members. Whether you’re identifying birds by their songs, counting wildflowers, or combing through leaf litter for insects, your discoveries contribute to valuable long-term data that helps scientists monitor changes in biodiversity over time.

Join us for the Indiana Academy of Science Bio-inventory of Eagle Marsh on May 31/June 1, 2025.
